As a Communications Advisor for AMA, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be a strategic consultant for the organization, advising internal clients on communications issues and approaches. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work with teams across AMA to develop and execute strategic communications plans that support our business strategy and advance our organizational goals. And when it\xe2\x80\x99s time for the big reveal, with all the pieces coming together, your purpose-driven communications will ensure buy-in with every audience. For you, it\xe2\x80\x99s elementary!

WHAT MOVES YOU

• You\xe2\x80\x99re a communications generalist with experience developing and executing complex communications and change management plans.
• You have advanced writing, editing and storytelling skills, and have been known to read the CP Style Guide for fun!
• You know your way around executive communications and enjoy developing key messages. Supporting leaders comes as naturally to you as breathing.
• Your business and political acumen are keen. You excel at reading the room and make decisions based on both fact and deduction.
• You\xe2\x80\x99re creative, innovative and forever inspired by the people and things around you. Your favourite place to think is outside the box.
• You\xe2\x80\x99re a Swiss Army Knife of research methodologies\xe2\x80\x94because every good plan starts with good information.

WHAT YOU\'LL DO

• Report to the Manager, Corporate Communications.
• Consult with business clients to understand strategic objectives and business challenges, then advise on communications solutions.
• Develop and execute robust, strategic and measurable communications plans that achieve organizational goals.
• Measure, analyze and report on the effectiveness of communications and projects.
• Develop key messages and ensure they\xe2\x80\x99re reflected in all deliverables.
• Act as an internal consultant, responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships and providing strategic solutions to business problems.
• As a senior communicator, provide quality recommendations and counsel to team members.
• Support media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, and change management.
• Learn and understand AMA\xe2\x80\x99s brand voice and Purpose, ensuring both are evident across communications.
• Be the primary point of contact for multiple AMA clients/business units.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Creative Agency and Digital Member Experience to develop and deliver comprehensive plans that support business goals.

WHAT YOU\'VE DONE

• You have a Degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field.
• You have at least seven years of communications experience in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• You\xe2\x80\x99re a team player with a proven ability to meet competing deadlines and thrive in the face of change.
• You get bonus points for experience in advocacy or relations (GR, PR, HR).
