We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Commis will support kitchen operations, assist in food handling, and ensure smooth service during busy hours.
Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs or kitchen management
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in all aspects of food handling and storage
Support team members in serving dishes efficiently and accurately
Help with kitchen organization, including cleaning, stock rotation, and equipment maintenance
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely delivery of quality dishes
Supervise junior staff or trainees when required, demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills
Follow all restaurant policies regarding food safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards
Contribute to creating a positive dining experience for guests through attentive service
Qualifications
Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of food handling safety standards and hygiene practices
Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous
Strong understanding of restaurant operations and hospitality principles
Leadership qualities with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards serving guests
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
Passion for the food industry with a commitment to continuous learning and development
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $15.80-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
