We are seeking a skilled and reliable Garage Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and openers, ensuring safety and functionality for our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of construction and mechanical systems, along with excellent problem-solving skills. The Garage Door Technician will work on various projects that may involve carpentry, blueprint reading, schematics, and restoration work, providing high-quality service in a timely manner.
Duties
Install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage doors and openers using hand tools and power tools
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately complete projects
Perform construction-related tasks such as framing, caulking, and construction painting as needed during installations or repairs
Conduct troubleshooting to identify issues with garage door systems and implement effective solutions
Use welding, plumbing, or flooring installation skills when required for specialized repairs or upgrades
Assist in restoration projects involving carpentry, tile laying, or other construction tasks to ensure seamless integration of garage door systems
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
Maintain a clean work environment and properly handle all tools and equipment
Requirements
Proven experience with hand tools, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, carpentry, caulking, restoration, construction painting, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of garage door mechanisms and openers is preferred
Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks for extended periods
Valid (or relevant license/ certification) is preferred but not mandatory
Prior experience in construction or related trades is a plus
