RoadSafetyBC is the lead provincial agency for road safety and is responsible for setting strategic direction and ensuring a provincial approach to road safety throughout British Columbia. RoadSafetyBC regulates drivers and operates a number of programs to help ensure the safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles in B.C.

Stakeholder Relations & Communications Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services to clients, and to communicate program goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (or higher) in Communications, Public Relations, English, or Social Sciences PLUS a minimum of 1 year experience working in a communications environment; OR
  • Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, English, or Social Sciences PLUS a minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in a communications environment; OR
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED) PLUS a minimum of 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in a communications environment; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Experience liaising and working with program staff, preferably in a government setting, to research information, draft responses and provide signed off messages.
  • Experience writing and editing a variety of communications materials
  • Experience in general communication principles, concepts and methodologies including issues management and media relations.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and responding to changing priorities, while producing results within tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in a supervisory role.

Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Experience working with Government Communications and Public Engagement (GCPE) staff.
  • Experience working with program staff from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
