The Group: The Equity Data team is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative, and results-driven candidate with 5+ years of experience in equity data to join its Equity Data Methodology and Strategy Team. The team\xe2\x80\x99s mandate is to be the experts in the field of equity data, whom our external and internal clients can trust to provide intelligent, valuable, and timely solutions. The Role: To this end as the leader of the Core Datasets collection methodology team you will work with content researchers, product consultants, business managers, product managers, project managers, developers, operation team leaders, quality assurance analysts and client/third-party stakeholders to define, manage and implement high quality and timely projects focused on equity data methodologies. As leader of the Core Dataset team, you are tasked with specialized subjects such as Personnel Data, Documents, Estimates & Transcripts and Corporate Actions Adjustments on data. You will work in a global environment, managing stakeholders in multiple regions. As the local resident content expert, you will be a resource to local data analysts. Job responsibilities:
Work with senior leaders to help guide the evolution of the equity database
Responsible for all core dataset methodologies including final sign off
Manage the operations and members of the core dataset methodology team
Responsible for working with the team to create detailed specification documents
Responsible for assisting in the creation of client facing documentation and research
Take the initiative to propose new methodology or processes that will benefit our clients
Collaborate with the calculation, operations, and other collection methodology teams to determine best practices
Work with product consultants and content strategy to ensure that our data is used in the best way possible
Communicate clear and concise project status information to stakeholders including the sales team and external clients
Develop, mentor, and coach team members to be successful in their roles at Morningstar
Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business
CFA is considered an asset
Expert level understanding of accounting principles, standards, and equity analysis
More than 5+ years of experience and proven track record in the equity industry
Able to serve as a subject matter expert and guide other team members through training and mentoring
Able to take the initiative and work without detailed guidance or supervision
Able to lead global projects coordinating with the global operations teams, working across different time zones
Able to influence colleagues that you do not manage but whose resource & skills you need to achieve project goals
Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
A pro-active and positive attitude and a team player
Interest and personal participation in equity markets is considered an asset
