Our camps offer hands-on learning experiences in coding and robotics, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. The camp runs from 9am to 3:30 in a day plus before and after school care. Job Summary: Steminai seeks a passionate and knowledgeable Coding and Robotics Instructor to join our summer camp team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate coding and robotics lessons, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment, and inspiring young minds to explore the world of technology. Based on performance and need, there is an opportunity for a contract extension with other programs. ____________________________________Key Responsibilities: Plan and Deliver Lessons:
Teach coding and robotics curriculum tailored to children aged 7-11 in a fun and interactive manner.
Follow lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, projects, and challenges.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs and learning styles of campers.
Create a FUN, positive and safe environment for the children to learn.
Innovate and work with students on projects related to coding and robotics
Supervision and Safety:
Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all campers.
Provide supervision during all camp activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Administer First Aid/CPR if necessary and respond to emergencies effectively.
Engagement:
Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes curiosity and a love for learning.
Serve as a role model and mentor, inspiring campers to pursue further studies in STEM fields.
Encourage teamwork and collaboration among campers through group projects and activities.
Communication:
Report on student progress and planned activities
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and camp staff on student progress/scheduled activities..
Provide regular updates on camper progress and address any concerns promptly.
Participate in camp staff meetings and contribute to the overall camp experience.
____________________________________Qualifications: Education and Experience:
Strong background in coding, robotics, and STEM education.
Previous experience teaching or working with children, particularly in a camp or educational setting.
Proficiency in programming languages suitable for young learners (e.g., Scratch, Python, LEGO Mindstorms, etc.). Training will be provided for successful candidates
Certifications:
Current First Aid/CPR certification.
Willingness to obtain a police reference check and vulnerable sector check.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a fun and engaging learning environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Passion for STEM education and working with children.
