Not satisfied with just providing Edmontonians with a great dining opportunity, the team at LUX set about 'raising the bar' as well, offering patrons a finer place to sip & socialize. The rich tones, soft fabrics, stunning millwork, and feature waterfall wall make BAR94 a definite destination for the business traveler and Edmonton's social fabric. In addition to housing a New York style long bar, guests can enjoy the full steakhouse menu and wash it down with an extensive list of premium select alcohols, wines by the glass, martinis, classic cocktails and craft beers.
Under the direction of the Bar Manager, our Bartenders are extremely knowledgeable about all food and beverage items in the restaurant. By adhering to the steps of service they answer questions, provide recommendations, and create a positive fanatical guest experience. Our Bartenders maintain an immaculately clean bar and monitor food quality to ensure all items are held to Century Hospitality Groups presentation standards. Through knowledge, accuracy, and efficiency our Bartenders provide the upmost satisfaction to our guests. This position is Part Time 3-4 shifts per week. Monday days, Wednesday days, most weekends and some evenings.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create a fanatical guest experience through interaction and adherence to the LUX Steakhouse + BAR94 steps of service
Exemplary knowledgeable of all food and beverage items for making recommendations to our valued guests. WSET or I.S.G. accreditation is a welcomed asset.
Expertly communicate beverage descriptions, specials and information to guests and team members
Have a minimum of 3 years in a fast paced, upscale casual dining establishment with a emphasis on cocktails and wine.
Be well versed in wine varietals, base spirits and craft beer. Extensively trained and educated through courses including WSET, ISG, or similar courses
Be aware and diligent of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
Ensure accuracy when entering information into the POS system
Monitor food quality and presentation standards
Keen eye for attention to details is a must
Complete opening, closing and side-duties efficiently and safely
You are positive and energetic. You are a team player.
Qualifications
At least 3 years cocktail bartending experience in a similar environment. Fine Dining or Upscale Casual Dining is required
ProServe Certification a requirement
WSET or I.S.G certification is an asset
High attention to detail
Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
Organizational skills and sales ability
Ability to multi-task
Strong oral and written communication skills
High level of product knowledge
Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
