This position is responsible for programming the CNC machines, designing fixturing, and supervising CNC staff. In addition, it shall be responsible for the creation of CNC machining programs, selecting appropriate tools, and ensuring the accurate production of complex machined parts.
Key Responsibilities
1.
CNC Program Development
a. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design models to develop CNC programs.
b. Use CAM software to program code - specifically Fusion 360 and GibbsCam
c. Specify cutting tools, determining machining approaches, and specifying work holding devices.
d. Modify CNC programs to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
e. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
f. Maintain precise records of CNC programs (setup sheets, process documentation)
Planning and Production
a. Coordinate, prioritize and distribute shop floor activities to meet client delivery dates.
b. Work with the Manufacturing Manager and COO to coordinate tooling requirements and machine maintenance.
c. Proactively notify Manufacturing Manager when issues arise during scheduling and production
d. Analyze and optimize the machine processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
e. Co-ordinate routine and emergency maintenance and repairs to CNC machines
Leadership
a. Assist with the Instructing and training shop floor team in machining practices and provide constructive, timely feedback as required
b. Share knowledge of processes that promote machining efficiency
c. Promote a healthy and safe workplace and a respectful work environment.
d. Evaluate personnel, provide feedback to management regarding training, discipline, or dismissal.
Authority
1. Collaborate with COO to adjust production router steps to best achieve quality and efficiency.
2. Assist by providing input into recruiting and performance management of shop floor staff.
Expected Deliverables and Outcomes

1. Produce high quality parts on time and on budget
2. Achieve 90% on-time delivery.
3. Achieve 85%+ labour efficiency.
4. Achieve less than 1.5% rework of manufacturing hours.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
