expertise to join our precision machining team. This role involves developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for custom-machined components serving multiple industries, including industrial, energy, and manufacturing sectors.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working in a high-mix, low-volume production environment where accuracy and efficiency are key.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, edit, and optimize
PowerMill CNC programs
for milling, turning, and complex 3D surfacing operations.
Interpret technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and customer specifications to generate accurate toolpaths.
Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials including stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys.
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to streamline setups, reduce cycle times, and improve machining processes.
Troubleshoot programming and machining challenges to ensure dimensional accuracy and high-quality finishes.
Maintain organized program files, setup sheets, and revision documentation.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ensure programs meet quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Certificate in
Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or Machining
(or equivalent experience).
Minimum
2 years of CNC programming experience
in a job shop or custom machining environment.
PowerMill
programming experience is
required
.
Strong understanding of
toolpath strategies, G-code, and 3D machining
.
Proficient in reading and interpreting
blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models
.
Experience with
multi-axis milling machines
is an asset.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office for documentation.
