About the Role

This position is responsible for generating and polishing optical and/or mechanical components using CNC machines.

Primary Responsibilities

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Program, set-up and run CNC optical generator & polishers or CNC mill & lathe machines

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Inspect and measure components to ensure conformity to specified tolerances

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Generate and polish components

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Grind components

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Edge components

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Hand polish components

Education and Experiences:

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Completed Apprenticeship as a General Machinist/ Toolmaker, or demonstrated work experience in a related discipline

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Prior experience in an AS9100 and Lean Manufacturing facility a definite asset

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and MASTERCAM

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Ability to read and interpret drawings

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7Strong technical knowledge, capabilities
