General Position Information:



Reports to: Shop Foreman

Type : Full time

Hours: Typically 7:30 - 4:30, Monday - Friday (40-45 hour weeks)

Compensation: Hourly. $24-$28 (DOE), paid overtime

Who we are looking for

: A production minded individual to machine components using a CNC router and related equipment, taking raw material through the cutting, shaping and edgebanding process. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that all components meet the standards for precision that we require for custom cabinet projects. The CNC Operator will work closely with the Shop Foreman and Production Engineer to ensure that materials are produced to meet our quality standards, in a timely manner that supports our goal to deliver excellent craftsmanship.

As the workflow ebbs and flows, this role will also assist in casework assembly as time allows.

Key Responsibilities



Read and interpret architectural and shop drawings, cut lists, and digital files. Load and verify CNC programs generated from Cabinet Vision and Fusion software, verify material thicknesses and machine offsets. Prepare and stage materials for machining and cabinet assembly, including labeling, sequencing, checking material quality and verifying parts are free of machining defects. Set up tooling, fixtures, and material to ensure accuracy and minimal waste. Operate CNC routers and related equipment to produce cabinet parts and millwork components according to specifications. Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet dimensional and surface quality requirements. Inspect parts against drawings and specifications using appropriate measuring tools. Maintain tight tolerances consistent with shop standards Identify and report any non-conformances, defects, or programming issues. Collaborate with the Shop Manager and/or Production Engineer to make necessary adjustments. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machinery, tooling, and dust extraction systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety protocols, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout procedures. Communicate effectively with the Shop Manager regarding production progress or issues. Provide feedback on tooling, process, and workflow improvements. Participate in training or cross-training to support a flexible, capable production team. Contribute ideas for improving production flow, efficiency, and quality.

Qualifications and Skills



Minimum 2 years experience setting up and operating CNC router or similar equipment in a cabinet shop environment and use of precision measuring instruments Technical training (Asset) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CNC production files and shop documentation Understanding of material characteristics (MDF, plywood, veneer panels, solid wood, laminates and phenolic resins) Ability to troubleshoot setup, tooling and programming issues Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision and quality Physical abilities include manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, physical fitness and the ability to move materials on and off the CNC (lift 100 lbs) Fork lift certification (Asset) Effectively manage time, able and willing to work diligently and efficiently - able to self-manage time and tasks, complete work quickly, but accurately to meet deadline Works well Independently and as a teammate within the company Desire to continuously learn and grow - willing to try new techniques and building methods and help refine shop processes
