What to Expect


Tesla Toronto Automation is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented CMM Quality Technician to join our Quality team. In this role, you'll ensure the precision and integrity of machined components through advanced metrology and inspection methods that directly support Tesla's world-class manufacturing standards.


Shift: Monday to Thursday 4:00pm to 1:30am & Friday 3:00pm to 11:30pm (Overtime as required).







What You'll Do

Program and operate CMMs (MCosmos, CAT1000, MiCAT Planner) to inspect complex machined components Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to validate part accuracy Conduct visual and manual inspections using surface plates and precision measurement tools Align and fixture parts to achieve optimal inspection accuracy and repeatability Analyze and document inspection data to confirm dimensional conformity Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and quality Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate CMM and related inspection equipment



What You'll Bring

Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, or equivalent hands-on experience 3+ years of experience in a CNC or automated machining environment programming and operating CMMs Strong working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection methodologies Proficient with precision tools such as micrometers, bore gages, and height gages Skilled in data interpretation and reporting using inspection software and Excel-based tools Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment Physically able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs. during routine inspections
