The Opportunity



Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, this position responsible for the coordination of Carewest implementation and monitoring of infection prevention and control (IP&C) standards and support for Continuing Care Health Services standards that include IP&C requirements. This position will work with the manager to develop site-based capacity to address IP&C practices and application of standards to provide exceptional care to Carewest residents and clients. The position will also provide support for the quality and safety agenda through safety investigations and other clinical quality related projects. Responsible for other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Graduation from a recognized nursing program; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Registration with the CARNA required. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred. Drivers License required

Experience:

Minimum five years nursing experience, preferably in a continuing care environment. Experience with implementing and monitoring IP&C in a health care environment. Knowledge of program development, implementation and performance measures to evaluate an IP&C program. Computer skills for creating documentation, preparing educational materials and collating data. Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including managers, staff, contractors, clients and families as well as participating in provincial networks.
