Position Description

The Clinical Research Project Assistant works closely with the Clinical Research Project Coordinator, and Principal Investigator to assist in study operations.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
Training in Qualitative Research
: Receive orientation and mentoring to become familiar with study protocols, qualitative research methods, analysis software (e.g., NVivo), and key background literature.
Qualitative Data Management
: Manage audio recordings, transcripts, study and recruitment materials; ensure secure data storage and confidentiality.
Transcription & Coding
: Transcribe qualitative interviews; code transcripts using qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo) and maintain an organized coding framework.
Qualitative Analysis & Synthesis
: Contribute to thematic analysis, identify key findings, and support the preparation of summary tables, figures, and conceptual frameworks.
Knowledge Synthesis & Translation
: Support preparation of manuscripts, reports, presentations, and other knowledge-translation materials for academic, policy, and clinical audiences.
Research Ethics & Project Coordination
: Assist with maintenance of Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions, including amendments and annual renewals; help track project timelines and deliverables.
Team Collaboration
: Participate in regular team meetings, liaise with collaborators, and maintain clear communication with the Principal Investigator and research team.
Here's What You'll Need
Post-secondary degree in sciences, social sciences or a health related discipline
Previous research experience is preferred
Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team
Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet and MEDLINE searches)
Experience using qualitative software
A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Casual (0.00 FTE), from hire date to March 31, 2026.
Maximum total hours for the project: 120 hours.
Weekly limit: up to 20 hours per week (hours may vary week-to-week depending on project needs).
