The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. We are recruiting a Clinical Research Coordinator to join the Pediatric Emergency Department at the Montreal Children\'s Hospital. Our emergency room cares for sick and injured children while conducting research projects to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience. Under the supervision of the Research Director, we are looking for a motivated, organized and enthusiastic person to join our dynamic team.ROLE:
More specifically, the clinical research coordinator will support initiation and coordination of a variety of projects with tasks including database management, entering data of all kinds (medical records, questionnaires, administrative data, laboratory data), controlling data entry quality, clinical follow-ups of research participants according to the study protocol, ensuring overall compliance with study protocols, and occasionally approaching families to participate in clinical research.
They will work collaboratively with the project leads, project manager, staff in the emergency department, community partners as well as patients & families.General Duties

  • Conducts studies in the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, according to the protocols and guidance from the Director of Research of the Division (PEM-ADR),
  • Works on several studies as needed, as discussed with the PEM-ADR,
  • Submits studies to Research Ethics Board and ensures ethical approvals are continued throughout the study,
  • Submits completed study manuscripts to scientific journals online platforms as required,
  • Coordinates study initiation and ensures smooth and efficient day-to-day activities in the carrying out of the projects,
  • Coordinates team meetings
  • Monitors the progress of the research activities and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports,
  • Completes regulatory documents and reports adverse events/amendment/deviation,
  • Ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies, if applicable,
  • Coordinates study visits as per study protocol,
  • Conducts patient prescreening based on patient medical charts,
  • Recruits research participants as needed,
  • Ensures proper documentation of investigator oversight,
  • Conducts and/or verifies study questionnaires,
  • Follows up with participants as per protocol,
  • Performs data entry as required,
  • Maintains adequate screening and enrollment records,
  • Provides coordination of all aspects of data collection and source documentation, as per GCP guidelines and documents are completed in a timely manner,
  • Communicates with investigators and other project stakeholders,
  • Supervises and tracks Research Clerk activities,
  • Collects clinical data, as well as patient information,
  • Is implicated in the study budget and invoicing, as needed,
  • Accomplishes any other relevant duties as required by the immediate superior and/or delegate.

Field of Study: Health-related fieldWork Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent clinical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting.Required Skills
  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written (applicants will be screened for proficiency in both languages),
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Self-directed, organized and sense of ethics,
  • Supervision experience an asset,
  • Comfortable around children and in Emergency room setting,
  • Experience in qualitative research and participatory research,
  • Computer skills are necessary, Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Additional informationStatus: Temporary, full time (35 hours/week)
Pay Scale: 43,316.00- $80,425.80 Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
