Housing: Available Type of Employment: Ongoing Reporting to the Territorial Health Education Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for promoting quality, culturally safe nursing practice, continuous quality improvement initiatives, optimal health outcomes and positive patient health care experiences. This position plays a critical role in promoting quality nursing services by assisting nurses to acquire the professional competencies required to succeed in their nursing role. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for assessing competencies, designing learning plans, supporting professional development activities, coordinating, and delivering orientation, education, and training sessions for Nurses working in a variety of roles throughout Nunavut. The Clinical Nurse Educator promotes equitable health care services throughout the territory by ensuring high clinical standards are met by nurses delivering those services. In this role, along with the nursing education team, you have the ability to increase patient satisfaction, increase public confidence in the health care system, and impact the health and well-being of Nunavummiut through the development and maintenance of a competent nursing workforce. Qualifications: \xef\x82\xb7 Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills \xef\x82\xb7 Commitment to confidentiality and respectful care \xef\x82\xb7 Proven ability to handle challenging situations effectively \xef\x82\xb7 Dedication to proactive health & safety practices \xef\x82\xb7 Flexibility to perform various duties The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience in the role of nurse practitioner, community health nurse, nurse in charge, emergency room nurse, or critical care nurse including at least one year of experience in training in an adult learning setting, new nurse orientation program, internship, or mentoring programs. Candidates must be eligible to register with CANNN. Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
