The Alberta Clinical and Surgical Assistant Program (ACSAP) provides International Medical Graduates (IMGs) with an alternate career path to become Clinical/Surgical Assistants. ACSAP programs put candidates through a six-month assessment and evaluation that, upon successful completion, can lead to a full-time and permanent acute care coverage role that addresses clinical and/or surgical coverage shortages. As a Clinical Assistant, you will work with our group to admit and care for patients with diverse medical needs, all while being supported by numerous specialist colleges. All clinical activities are performed under the supervision of a physician and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Some of the Clinical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, completing admissions, ordering and performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, assessing and responding to the patient\'s medical needs as they arise and planning care throughout the patient\'s hospitalization, supporting the patient\'s discharge planning process as needed. 16 positions available.
