We are seeking a Permanent Part Time Clerk | National Surgical Quality Improvement Program at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC.





Days of work: Days, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday



Shift times: 8:00 to 14:45

What will you work on?





This position provides data entry and clerical functions related to patient information for the department and NSQIP program.



Typical duties and responsibilities:



Enters patient and demographic information from a Surgical Validation Sheet into a computerized information system. Reviews patient records and checks for accuracy according to procedure. Looks up pre-surgery laboratory values closest to a designated surgery time, pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative data and enters information into workstation. Contacts physician offices by telephone or fax to obtain patient information in accordance with standardized procedures. Receives reports, types/inputs information as required and prepares summary reports. Patient follow-up. Thirty (30) days following surgery, contacts patients in the NSQIP program utilizing standardized/pre-scripted questions to obtain information related to status. Enters data and advises supervisor of any concerns/anomalies. Performs clerical duties for the dept such as maintaining patient records, surgical results/outcomes and filing results as appropriate according to established procedures. Pulls up OR Validation Sheets for an eight (8) day cycle; files results as appropriate according to established procedures. Performs receptionist duties for the department such as answering the telephones, providing information, ordering supplies as directed, relaying messages to the appropriate area or person. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities by performing duties such as providing input/feedback to the Manager (or designate) on work procedures and opportunities for process improvement. Assists with orienting new staff by performing duties such as demonstrating work procedures and demonstrating use of equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
