The Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a position of Clerk in Brandon. Manitoba Housing provides a wide range of subsidized housing across the province. We partner with other governments, community organizations, and private groups to create and maintain safe and affordable housing where people can thrive. Manitoba Housing offers options for those most in need, addressing housing insecurity and directly managing 12,037 units in 200 communities throughout Manitoba. Our tenants come from diverse backgrounds, varying in age, education, language, mental and physical abilities, religion, ethnicity, gender, and race. Conditions of Employment:


Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Must possess a valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver's Licence and have access to a personal vehicle to travel for business purposes

Qualifications:


Essential:




Experience providing clerical and administrative support in an office environment. Experience performing accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and taking payments from various sources. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task within a changing environment. Experience providing superior customer service in person and over the phone to individuals from diverse backgrounds (cultural, financially disadvantaged, persons with disabilities, socially disadvantaged, newcomers, etc.) who may face multiple barriers and challenges such as addictions, mental illness, disability and unemployment Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Effective written communication skills . Effective verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.

Duties:


Reporting to a Regional Administrative Officer, the Clerk is responsible for all assigned administrative services to employees, tenants and applicants. The incumbent acts as the front-line point of contact for all Housing offices. The Clerk is also responsible for typing documents, receiving and verifying invoices, processing and monitoring payments and expenditures, collecting money and issuing receipts, verifying that transactions comply with Manitoba Housing policies and procedures, data entry, preparing reports, maintaining filing systems, greeting and assisting visitors, answering phones, directing calls, and responding to inquiries.
