Clerical Assistant (Continuing Education and Outreach Assistant) College of Agriculture Bioresources
Primary Purpose: The mandate of the Continuing Education and Outreach Assistant is to address the college need to provide administrative support to departments, centres, and Dean's office in the area of continuing education, outreach, and community engagement. It is the purpose of the Continuing Education and Outreach Assistant to administrate and support the coordination and facilitation of non-credit programs, certificates, micro-credentials, academic and non-academic events for the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, the Nutrien Centre for Digital and Sustainable Agriculture, and the kichi-okawimaw Knowledge Centre.
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Associate Dean Academic, the Continuing Education and Outreach Assistant is responsible for or assists with the organization and coordination of college and department events, such as, for example: Soils and Crops Workshop. As well as assists with administration of non-credits programs such as, for example: the Canadian Crop Science Consultant, the Management of Confined Trials, the Prairie Horticulture Certificate, the Sustainable Irrigation and Introduction to Prescribed Fire micro-credentials, and the college commitment to Sustainable Food for Canada Network (SF4C). The individual in this position must demonstrate an ability to build professional relationships with faculty, staff and external partners. Working in a complex environment, this position requires discretion, tact, professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement. The work requires attention to quality of work, the ability to understand and accurately communicate, and the need to prioritize to meet deadlines. New initiatives that align with college priorities and under the supervision of Agbio faculty may be assigned.
