As a Toronto-based Claims Specialist- Casualty, you will play a critical role in AXA XL\'s claims for the Casualty team. Expect to work closely with your manager and fellow Claims colleagues to drive files to resolution and to interact and collaborate frequently with Underwriting teams. Together, you will be tasked with achieving the best possible outcomes for AXA XL and its clients by resolving and settling claims proactively.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
\xc2\xb7 Assessing coverage and preparing relevant correspondence to communicate to brokers and insured when applicable.
\xc2\xb7 Providing directions to independent adjusters in investigating claims.
\xc2\xb7 Evaluating and negotiating timely resolutions on assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions.
\xc2\xb7 Partnering with internal and external counsel in setting and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
\xc2\xb7 Coordinating and managing communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, external vendors, etc.) to ensure the highest level of customer service. Participation in new account and renewal meetings may be required.
\xc2\xb7 Consulting with Claims management and Claims Legal, as warranted, on Large Losses and ensuring all steps are taken to achieve the best outcome.
\xc2\xb7 Maintaining file notes, preparing internal reporting, timely reserving, issuing payments, and setting of electronic file diary are in accordance with best practices guidelines.
\xc2\xb7 Identifying, monitoring and reporting on emerging trends in the insurance industry and legislative changes.

Required Skills and Abilities:
\xc2\xb7 Intermediate level experience in a Bodily Injury/Casualty and Litigation claims handling role.
\xc2\xb7 Experience with managing both Commercial General Liability (CGL) and Auto Bodily Injury claims.
\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or comparable degree.
\xc2\xb7 Obtained or working toward Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation preferred.
\xc2\xb7 Superior customer service oriented
\xc2\xb7 Effective written and verbal communication skills.
\xc2\xb7 Well-organized; ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities.
\xc2\xb7 Very collaborative and works well in a team environment.
\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
