:

CIVIL/MUNICIPAL ENGINEER

Duties

• Assist with design calculations based on engineering principles for various municipal development projects, meeting applicable regulatory codes and standards, and conveying design information to CAD staff for drafting completion;

• Organize and prepare permit applications with municipalities or agencies;

• Liaise with municipal staff, contractors, and the public and equipment suppliers;

• Assist with the preparation of technical design reports and memos;

• Assist with preparation of engineering drawings using Civil 3D;

• Attend and participate in project team meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project deliverables;

• Other related duties, as assigned.

• Relevant education in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering technology
• Experience in Storm, Sanitary and water design is required

• Knowledge of engineering principals and design standards

• General familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields;

• Strong technical report writing skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills;

• Civil3D experience is required.

• Experience working with MicroStation is considered an asset;

• Excellent attention to detail;

• Excellent time management and organizational skills;

• Strong problem solving skills;

• Working knowledge of MS Office software, including Outlook, Excel and Word
