OUR VISION

In 2024, EarthDaily Analytics will launch The EarthDaily Constellation, the world\xe2\x80\x99s most powerful global change detection and analysis system. The EarthDaily Constellation consist of 9+1 Earth Observation satellites, imaging the entire land surface of the earth every day in multiple visible, SWIR and thermal bands. The satellite imagery will be processed by EarthDaily for delivery to customers.

OUR TEAM

We\xe2\x80\x99re growing a multidisciplinary team of engineers to build out our Mission Operations for the launch the EarthDaily Constellation. Our diversity is core to our success in building the most innovative technologies on (and off!) the planet. Our team of experts have developed the world\xe2\x80\x99s first colour HD video from space, developed the processing pipelines for some of the most well-known commercial satellites, and have built the world\xe2\x80\x99s first automated Satellite Processing service which is being applied by partner satellites and our upcoming constellation.

At EarthDaily Analytics we work as a highly collaborative team in an agile based iterative environment and are leading the next revolution in satellite-based Earth Observation remote sensing through problem solving, growth and ownership.

PREPARE FOR IMPACT!

The Senior Mission Operations Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operations of the EarthDaily Constellation and ensuring the optimum health and lifetime of the satellites. In addition, the Senior Mission Operations Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to other corporate groups such as sales or software as required. Typical tasks include interfacing with the satellite bus operator to coordinate activities, monitor the payload operations and assess the health of the satellites and, working with software group, monitor the quality of the payload performance and support payload optimization. Using their knowledge of satellite operations, the Senior Mission Operations Engineer will develop software tools to measure and monitor the health of the satellite bus and payload. In case of anomalies, the engineer will lead investigations and be responsible for implementing corrective actions. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Support fleet commissioning and routine operations such as planning acquisitions
  • Support operations of satellite platform subsystems, payload instruments, on-board software management, satellite simulator and ground segment operations
  • Produce and maintain operational documentation and flight procedures
  • Trending and performance analysis of the platform and payload
  • Investigations of satellite anomalies
  • Participation in the satellite on-call support rotation
  • System and operations preparation for satellites
  • Provide inputs and review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts
  • Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals as well as support the definition of tools and processes
  • Support review of test data and design reviews
YOUR PAST MISSIONS
  • Bachelor or Master\xe2\x80\x99s in aerospace engineering, systems engineering or related discipline (engineering, math, physics)
  • 5+ years satellite fleet operations
  • Experience in the operation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites
  • Experience in Earth Observation (EO) payload operations an asset
YOUR TOOLKIT (aka Skills and Knowledge)
  • Knowledge of satellite subsystems and design principles
  • Spacecraft operations engineering for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Earth Observation (EO), 3- axis stabilized spacecraft with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, commissioning or routine operations phases
  • Computerized operations preparation tools such as STK and automation of monitoring
  • Demonstrated experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving, liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes
  • Computer programming and database application development
  • Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities an asset
  • Specification of system and operational concepts, facility requirements an asset
