Civil and Commercial Estimator Langley, BC Become a key member of the Estimating team for a group of companies in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. For the past 20 years, they've built a reputation for excellence in pre-construction, construction management, and general contracting services for commercial, institutional, and civil projects across British Columbia. With new growth, they're seeking a proactive and experienced Estimator to join the team. Truly valuing safety, teamwork, trust, accountability, continuous learning, and high performance. The Estimator is responsible for the accurate project estimation and tendering of all estimations including, but not limited to, commercial, institutional and civil, projects using Master Format 16 Divisions. Reporting to the Senior Estimator the Estimator is responsible for reviewing construction drawings and specifications, understanding the design intent, identifying challenging items and errors, performing electronic quantity take-offs, and reviewing, auditing, and levelling sub-trades and supplier prices. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Required Experience & Skills:

  • Exceptional communication, management, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • 2-5 + years’ experience estimating projects in various types of commercial, institutional, and civil construction
  • Strong working experience with MS Project, Office, and construction management, and accounting software
  • Procore estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge and application of current provincial & municipal building codes
  • Technically strong with the ability to analyze the project, architectural, structural, mechanical & electrical plans, specifications and permits
  • Strong and effective communication, collaboration, and client service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Strong and proactive organization, and time management skills
  • Highly self-motivated, directed, and accountable
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license to drive to project sites throughout the lower mainland
