Job Description

Heritage Family Services is seeking an experienced Team Lead Worker for a program in Red Deer, Alberta.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated, service-oriented leader who is authentic, responsible, and organized. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build healthy relationships with children and youth using a trauma-informed approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Foster trusting relationships while respecting each youth's individuality.

Ensure a safe and secure environment by following security protocols and policies.

Lead and support staff and clients by providing coaching, guidance, and supervision.

Oversee daily routines and facilitate youth-centered programs.

Assist in meal preparation and encourage healthy living habits.

Promote a positive self-concept and celebrate achievements.

Advocate for each child/youth, ensuring access to necessary resources.

Create a nurturing environment that meets the emotional needs of youth.

Support youth in developing life skills, including emotional regulation and problem-solving.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma (minimum 2 years) in Human Services or a related field.

At least 3 years of relevant experience working with children/youth.

Pre-employment requirements:

Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check).

Child Intervention Check.

Valid Class 5 Driver's License & Driver's Abstract (fewer than six demerits).

Strong understanding of therapeutic care and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).

Knowledge of child development, trauma, loss, and grief.

Awareness of Indigenous traditions, cultures, and beliefs to ensure culturally appropriate care.

Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate respect for different identities, backgrounds, and experiences.

Excellent cross-cultural communication and teamwork skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.01 per hour
