Duties
Develop and implement engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of youth participants.
Provide one-on-one support to children with disabilities, ensuring their inclusion in all activities.
Foster positive relationships with youth by offering mentorship and guidance.
Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to create individualized plans for each child.
Monitor and document the progress of youth participants, providing feedback to stakeholders as necessary.
Facilitate group discussions and workshops that encourage teamwork and communication skills among participants.
Ensure a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or home care settings.
Familiarity with supporting individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental delays.
Training or certifications in one or more of the following (an asset, not all required):
Diploma or equivalent training in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related field (or combination of education and experience).
Experience supporting children or youth in recreational, educational, or care settings.
First Aid & CPR Level C
Food Safe Level 1
Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Screening
Strong teaching and engagement skills to support children in meaningful activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and team members.
Patient, empathetic approach to youth development and behavior management.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
