Specialized Child and Youth Support Worker.




Pay rate:

$27.54

/hour




Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 2:00pm-10:00pm





Strive Living Society is a progressive non-profit supporting individuals of diverse abilities across the Lower Mainland since 1988. We're hiring caring, enthusiastic team members to support neurodiverse youth in a trauma-informed, culturally safe environment.



The position entails working in a two to one setting at our Staffed Specialized Resource locations with individuals who are diagnosed with developmental delays, mental health, ADHD, FASD, Autism, OCD, self-harming and challenging behaviours. These individualized settings foster opportunities to focus on behaviour management and strengthen the bond with each child in the home.

Some benefits have eligibility requirements of surpassing three (3) months and securing a regular position of 20hrs/week or more. The benefits and criteria may change from time to time at the discretion of Strive.

Job Duties Include but not limited to:




Supporting youth with autism, ADHD, FASD, and mental health challenges Following care plans & documenting progress Assisting with daily routines, outings, and life skills Building relationships & promoting emotional well-being Collaborating with families and care teams

Qualifications and Requirements:




Class 5 BC Driver's License required and clean driver's abstract

Experience with neurodiverse and at-risk youth Strong communication & crisis management skills Trauma-informed approach Criminal Record Clearance, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Children and Family Development Out of Country CRC (if you have lived outside of Canada within the last 5 years) First Aid and CPR Certificate MANDT Training will be offered in-house Food Safe Certificate 3 professional references
