To provide support to the program staff ensuring inclusion of all children in the program. The CCPA is an enrichment (extra pair of hands) to the program staff and not included in regular ratio. The CCPA's role is to work directly with all children in the program environment. Each CCPA role is unique and will vary depending on support requirements of the program.
Responsibilities:
Support and make a commitment to the principles of inclusion.
Acknowledgement of the primary responsibilities remaining with the program environment.
Familiarity with the program, routines, philosophy of the program environment.
Actively involve all children in the daily activities. The CCPA is an additional support to the group to ensure that full inclusion exists, and the Educator receives the support required.
Support the overall operation of the program in the program environment.
Respond to all children and educators in the group positively.
Take direction while participating as a member of the team.
Ability to flexible in preforming daily task, scheduling and work location.
Knowledge of child development
Maintain positive interactions with all children and staff
Always maintain confidentiality.
Maintain good working relations and communication with all staff.
Perform all other child related duties as assigned.
Communicate effectively and follow the direction of the program supervisor.
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education Diploma, Child and Youth Care Worker Diploma, Educational Assistant
Experience working in a licensed child care and/or school age children.
Experience working with Children with exceptionalities
Understand and follow all with policies and procedures of the organization.
