SUPERVISOR, NEW CHILD CARE CENTRE

Network Child Care Services ("Network") is a non-profit, community based multi-site child care agency that has been providing quality child care services throughout various communities in Toronto for over 34 years. Licensed by the Ministry of Education, Network provides equitable and inclusive child care programs to support culturally diverse children and their families in group based child care programs, a Home Child Care program, and Before and After School Programs.

Network Child Care Services was established in 1991 as a home child care organization. Just as our communities grew and changed over the years, we responded to an ever-growing need for equitable and inclusive access to quality child care.

Today, we offer a wide variety of progressive child care services and early learning programs to support families in meeting their child's academic and child care needs.

Network is currently seeking a

Child Care Supervisor

for a new child care centre,

Children's Gallery Child Care Centre

, located in the Grange Park neighbourhood of Toronto, near the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).

Children's Gallery Child Care Centre will begin operating in early 2026, providing child care and early years services to 62 children, ages 0 to 4 years.

Working under the guidance and support of the Program Manager, the Child Care Supervisor will work collaboratively in a professional team to establish the child care centre in preparation for licensing and ongoing daily operations of the program, ensuring that all regulations, directives, and governances are met or exceeded. The Child Care Supervisor assists to recruit, select and train new child care staff; assess and identify training needs for child care staff; review and monitor compliance with required policies, procedures and individualized plans; liaise with government officials; apply policies, program framework, and legislation to respond to inquiries and issues from staff and families.

Job Type:

Full Time Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

December 15, 2025.

Minimal Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree from an Early Childhood Education program recognized by the Ministry of Education. Post graduate Child Care Management Certificate or other credentials is an asset. Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Supervisory experience in child care setting. Minimum 5 years work experience in licensed child care, working with infants, toddlers and preschool children. Child Care Administration experience. Able to plan and direct the child care program, overseeing children and program staff. Demonstrated experience working with families and staff. Able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check. Current First Aid certification. Available to work flexible hours when required.

Knowledge and Skills

Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), and Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), Every Child Belongs model, and How Does Learning Happen?*
Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Able to maintain professional relationships and effective interpersonal communication. Demonstrated supervisory skills to supervise, build relationships, coach, and mentor child care staff and Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs). Proficient IT skills, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook. Experience with CSIS and other child care data bases to collect information, retrieve data, and prepare reports. Experience with the Ministry of Education's Child Care Licensing System (CCLS)- Early Years Portal Experience working with children with varying exceptionalities, following Every Child Belongsmodel. Familiarity with Toronto Children's Services subsidy application process to support families. Demonstrates professional obligation and adherence to the College of Early Childhood Educators' Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice*, and the Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program.

Key Responsibilities

Follows the directives of Toronto Children's Services', Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), the Ministry of Education's Child Care and Early Years Act, (CCEYA)regulations, Toronto Public Health, and ensures Network's operational policies and procedures are effectively adhered to. Ensures the child care program maintains full regulatory licensing compliance. Facilitates open houses and orientation for families interested in the child care program, and new child care staff. Maintains and monitors the child care centre waitlist and enroll children when space is available. Ensures pedagogical program plans are implemented.
