Gledhill Avenue Child Care Centre (GACCC) is a non-profit child care centre that has serviced the local East York community since 1989. We are located within a TDSB elementary school, Gledhill Junior Public School. Our centre is licensed for 166 children. We operate a full-day, year-round Preschool Program, and Kindergarten and School Age Before and After School Programs as well as Full-Day programs during summer and breaks.

POSITION
We are seeking a Part-Time Registered Early Childhood Educator who will be directly responsible for the care, safety, and supervision of children ranging from 2.5 to 9 years old.
This position is for a permanent, part-time position.
The ideal candidate must also be willing to take on a variety of tasks to support the centre including adhering to all health & safety as outlined in Toronto Public Health's Infection Prevention and Control Measures for Child Care Settings (IPAC)
Candidates must be available during Centre operating hours of 7:00-6:00pm. While this position is for a straight, day shift, split shifts may also be required, on an as-needed basis, as part of the role.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to and implement the centre's policies, procedures, and program statement.
- Maintain a safe, clean, warm and caring environment in which a high quality child care program can operate.
- Follow requirements for record-keeping, including documenting daily screening, children's attendance, health checks, accident reports, and other paperwork as required.
- Complete required documentation of children's development, interactions, and interests.
- Provide administrative support including answering the phone and doorbell, conducting daily vidual health checks, coordinating children's arrivals/departures with program staff.
- Help children safely transition to/from programs.
- Plan and facilitate enriched emergent programming and special clubs/interest groups for children.
- Plan for and set up engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Use age-appropriate guidance practices such as redirecting, positive language, and positive reinforcement.
- Build positive interactions and provide an inclusive, equitable, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Adhere to work schedule to ensure program stays within ratio and provide adequate notice to management in the event of unexpected scheduling changes.
- Assist in daily housekeeping including cleaning and sanitizing child care spaces, focusing on frequently touched surfaces, equipment, toys, and any other areas or items deemed necessary, following GACCC's health and safety protocols and procedures as well as Toronto Public Health's guidelines.
- Participate in staff & team meetings as required.

- Able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold.
- Flexible regarding assigned working hours (we are open from 7am to 6pm with hours and shift times varying depending on the centre's needs, including some split shifts to support before and after school programs).

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a licensed child care setting (required)
- Valid certification for Standard First Aid with CPR-C infant/child (required)
- Current/clear police check with vulnerable sector screening (required)
- Up-to-date immunization records and TB test (required)
- Registered member in good standing with the College of ECEs (required)
- Food Handler Certification (an asset)

Salary:
$27.50-$33.00 per hour depending on experience level and qualifications.
Contract:
12 month, Part-Time contract with thepossibility to continue employment beyond contract date.
Hours:
Hours will vary depending on the Centre needs.
Must be available Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm
