About Blackberry Lane:

We run four fun-filled, year-round programs:

2 Multi-Age Programs

(each licensed for 8 kiddos (0 to 12 years), Monday - Friday)

Denman Kids Club

before and after-school & summer daycare (for school-age children)

Sea Stars Academy

for our Denman home-learners, once weekly outdoor ed program

We'd Love to Meet You If You Have:

A current

ECE or ECEA Certification, valid BC Teaching Degree, or Responsible Adult Certificate

(with management experience in public health, childcare, or community care.) Experience bringing joy, patience, and creativity to early learning Knowledge of the

BC Early Learning Framework

and

BC Child Care Licensing Regulations

A personal and professional background in management and

A valid

First Aid Certificate

with CPR-B A teamwork mindset and a heart full of kindness Must be at least 19 years of age Successful candidate will be required to provide 2 satisfactory references Successful candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search preceding the start date. Experience working with children ages 0 - 12 Minimum 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition

The Nitty Gritty:

Permanent position

Full-time role (32+ hours per week)

Pay: Starting at $27.00 per hour $6/hour additional Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement (ECEWE) for ECEs Schedule: Monday to Friday weekly, excluding stat holidays. Paid Professional Development and Re-Certification 4% annual Vacation Pay
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is passionate about providing quality education and care to young children. You will lead our team and ensure that engaging lesson plans are created and led, foster a positive learning environment, and build strong relationships with children, parents, staff and community.

Reporting to the Manager of the Children's Centre, this role requires high levels of sensitivity, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

The

Child Care

Team Leader

, with minimal supervision from the Center Manager, provides guidance to the personnel and day to day oversight of our learning spaces including communicating with, and building strong relationships with parents and families. The position is also responsible for the care, education, and well-being of children aged 0-12. The Team Leader works collaboratively with other educators, volunteers, community allies and the Denman Island Pre-School Society Board of Directors, to create a nurturing, inclusive and rich early learning environment for children.

Our location on Denman Island in the Comox Valley, BC. requires that applicants have secure housing on Denman Island or have reliable transportation to and from the Buckley Bay ferry terminal as the BC Transit system does not have a schedule that aligns with the required ferries.
