Our team has an immediate permanent opening for a Chief Architect - Cloud Storage Media

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in SSD architecture definition tasks - technology exploration, spec development, considering performance/QoS/power/cost trade-offs.
• Incubate and prototype new SW/HW Co-designed technologies to demonstrate the viability of new SSD system architectures to improve the cloud-native applications
• performances.
• Drive continuous improvements in SSD products and processes based on industry trends, technology trends, competitive trends, and internal execution.
• Participate in new SSD product architecture discussions with planning and engineering teams to identify competitive yet executable architectures for Huawei Cloud.
• Collaborate with various teams in Huawei Cloud to ensure end-to-end software-hardware solutions.
• Work with Huawei Cloud Service teams to understand their issues, requirements, and business models.

• Proficient in the design, operation and maintenance of cloud, storage, server systems or products, such as the design and development of the underlying hardware platform of the data center cluster system.
• Experience in the application and design of SSDs. Be familiar with the product architecture, key technologies, and technology evolution directions. Have In-depth Experience with SSD controllers and/or SSD firmware architecture.
• Have an SW/HW co-design experience in SSD an asset.
• Have sufficient knowledge of the flash-based storage industry and experience in 3D TLC/QLC NAND devices.
• Have good knowledge of computer and systems architecture with a thorough understanding of system software (OS, Drivers, Firmware) and its interaction with the hardware platform.
• Have general knowledge of storage media, storage system architecture, and storage software stacks.
• Have general knowledge of applications\' characteristics and storage requirements such as databases and big data.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning and deploying new technologies.
