Are you a culinary rockstar with serious skills, a passion for the plate, and a drive to lead by example? The Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel is searching for our next Chef de Partie--someone who's ready to bring flavor, flair, and finesse to our award-winning culinary team.

This is a permanent full-time hourly position (minimum 30 hours/week) at $23.50/hour, plus gratuities.

As our Chef de Partie, you're more than a cook--you're a culinary leader. You'll be a key player in the heart of the kitchen, ensuring that every dish that leaves your station is plated to perfection, packed with flavor, and crafted with care. You'll support your fellow cooks, lead by example, and bring an infectious energy to every shift.



Whether you're prepping for a busy night, mentoring a new team member, or creating picture-perfect plates for special events, you bring passion and professionalism to everything you do.



WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:



Lead the Line - You'll run your station with precision and pride, setting the tone for quality and speed. Hands-On Cooking - Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with skill, creativity, and consistency every single time. Team Motivation - Be the go-to support for junior cooks, inspiring and guiding them through high-volume services with positivity and know-how. Keep It Clean & Safe - Uphold the highest standards in food safety, sanitation, and hygiene. Your station? Spotless. Your standards? Uncompromising. Create Culinary Excellence - Work with our Sous Chefs to perfect food presentation and design stunning displays that wow guests and elevate the dining experience. Adapt Like a Pro - Whether you're switching stations, jumping in to help a teammate, or handling last-minute changes, you stay cool, collected, and efficient under pressure. Maintain the Magic - Monitor the quality of raw and cooked ingredients, ensuring everything that hits the plate is up to our exceptional standards.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED



Education & Experience

Red Seal Certification in the Culinary Arts is required for this position High school diploma or GED + 3 years' experience in culinary, food & beverage, or related field

OR

2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel or Restaurant Management + 1 year experience Previous experience in a hotel setting or luxury kitchen? That's a strong plus!

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE



Culinary Technique - You're confident in a variety of cooking methods (grilling, sauteing, baking, plating, etc.). Presentation Mastery - You know how to wow with both taste and presentation. Food Safety Savvy - You play by the rules when it comes to sanitation and handling. Math Skills - Quick with conversions, measurements, and portion control. Strong Communication - You speak kitchen fluently, and write it well too. Creativity & Originality - You bring fresh ideas to the table. Customer Focus - You understand the value of every guest experience and work hard to make each one exceptional.
