Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Clinical Charge CT technologist for the Health Sciences Centre are responsible for:

• All aspects of the technical operation, efficiency and productivity of the CT scanner(s) and related components.
• Orderly integration of clinical/research components.
• Performing and assisting radiologists in the performance of CT examinations.
• CT training and technical supervision of CT imaging personnel.
• Developing and/or making recommendations for procedural methods within the area.
• Assisting with student teaching programs.
• Acting as a resource person/liaison for nursing, transport and support services personnel.

The primary supervisor will be the Section Head CT and/or Diagnostic Imaging Manager at HSC.

Experience

• Five years of experience in CT Scanning required.
• Past experience in a charge capacity preferred.
• Supervisor experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Graduation from a recognized and accredited school of Medical Imaging Technology with a minimum of two years of training.

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• Must have successfully completed the CT Imaging Certificate (CTIC) program recognized by the C.A.M.R.T.
• Human Resource Management courses preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Must be registered in good standing with the C.A.M.R.T. (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists).
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Shared Health policy.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must exhibit excellent interpersonal and English communication skills, oral and written.

Physical Requirements

• Good physical and mental health and manual dexterity.
• Stands and moves about during most of the working day.
• Bends, reaches, lifts and carries materials and equipment for short distances.
• At times, may be required to push or pull heavy equipment.
• Lifts and positions patients, some of whom are in a state of complete unconsciousness.
