Responsibilities

Engineering People Transformation - Change Delivery Manager (Fixed Term 18-24 Months) Grade: ML1/SB3 Salary: £38,500 per annum to £47,700 per annum

As the Change Delivery Manager, you’ll support the Head of Engineering People Transformation by taking the lead in Key projects within the People Strategy workstream. You’ll create project plans, manage the delivery of those projects in conjunction with specialist support required, and completing reports on progress in line with programme control.
This role will require you to provide the Engineering senior leadership team and workstream leads with comprehensive HR advice, guidance and support relating to transformation people activity and translate the ‘Engineering Rich Picture’ int plans to ensure effective delivery. By supporting the delivery of the People workstream activity, you’ll ensure milestones commitments are met, establishing credibility within the function as an expert in HR excellence.
This role can be based across Manchester, Leeds, and York, so there will be some requirement for you to travel across the main Engineering locations. However, there is the opportunity to work from home.
Role Responsibilities
Your main duties will be:

  • Support the Head of Engineering People Transformation with delivery of the People strategy workstream activity within the Engineering Transformation programme; ensuring milestones are met
  • Responsible for leading key projects within the People strategy workstream including the creation, development, delivery of project plans, development of business cases and progression reports
  • Ensure effective communication between the Transformation project teams in a coaching, supportive and challenging manner, ensuring managers are competent and confident in the application of HR policies and practice Providing expert advice, guidance, and support on all HR matters relating to engineering transformation activity
  • Coach & guide the Engineering Leadership team in creation and review of role profiles ensuring the principles of the Org design methodology a & HR policies/practices have been applied.
  • Support the Engineering Leadership, HRBP & Recruitment teams with the delivery of Engineering Transformation recruitment and selection activities ensuring the employment of the most suitable candidate with the correct skills & expertise.
  • Produce reporting for the allocated projects/workstreams in line with Transformation programme governance requirements

About You
In this role you should be able to demonstrate the following skills, abilities, behaviours, and attitude:
  • Experience of delivering a significant change project, either as part of a team or leading the team
  • Previous experience of working within a complex unionised business would be beneficial
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge at a senior level and manage stakeholder effectively
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions (ideally) within the transport sector and be able to demonstrate an understanding of local and strategic ER
  • Experience of working in a large, multi-site operation and the complexities this brings.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation.
  • Ability to translate strategy into local plans
  • CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent experience
  • Project management qualification / experience is desirable
