Job Description

Yukon University\'s School of Health, Education and Human Services (HEHS) is comprised of five core programs-Health Care Assistant, Practical Nurse, Social Work, Education (YNTEP), and Early Learning. The Chair, HEHS is a faculty position, overseeing all HEHS programs, including budgetary and resource considerations, and supervising and supporting the school\'s permanent, term and sessional faculty and administrative assistants. The Chair is also a key resource for HEHS students, providing guidance towards academic success through program advising, liaising with faculty and student support staff, and helping students navigate challenges they may face during their studies.

The ideal candidate will have a master\'s degree minimum in a field relevant to the programs in the School of HEHS as well as prior experience teaching postsecondary courses relevant to those fields or a combination of related education/professional designation and experience; prior work experience in a HEHS field would be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will also have strong interpersonal, communication, and consensus-building skills; demonstrated ability to initiate and champion innovation and quality improvement; and a commitment to student-centered leadership and planning.
