Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, medication administration, and providing emotional support to enhance the quality of life for our clients.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance to clients including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Support clients in daily activities such as cleaning, laundry, and light housekeeping tasks. Engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to promote mental stimulation. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or case manager. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Ensure compliance with medical terminology and protocols during caregiving tasks.

Qualifications

Previous experience in nursing homes, senior care, or assisted living environments is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities and dementia care is highly desirable. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care best practices is essential. Experience in home care settings is a plus, along with skills in meal preparation and cleaning tasks. Strong understanding of hospice care principles is beneficial for providing end-of-life support. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Basic knowledge of case management processes is an advantage. Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
