Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Direct Support Worker (DSW) to join our team during the midnight shift. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with various needs. This role is essential in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents during the overnight hours.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for residents. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health status. Support residents with daily activities and encourage their independence while ensuring safety. Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties as needed. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury. Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in resident conditions to the nursing staff.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, hospice care, or working with people with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient-centered care. Ability to perform cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a safe living environment. Must be comfortable with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Certification as a Direct Support Worker is required; additional certifications in nursing or caregiving are advantageous.
