CERTIFIED COOK (FULL TIME)
A full time Certified Cook position is available at the Palmerston and District site of North Wellington Healthcare within our Support Services Department effective immediately.
This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226.
REQUIREMENTS:

• A Provincial Red Seal Certificate or Cook Certificate from a recognized program that meets the standard established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
• Minimum Grade 12
• Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position, preferably in a hospital setting
• Preference to those who have also completed the Food Service Worker Program
• Adhere to all aspects of Food Safety protocol under the Ontario Public Health Standards
• Basic computer skills required
• Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Dependable, hard working and positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to follow instructions accurately
• Ability to meet timelines
• Proven attendance record

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Satisfactory performance and attendance required
• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired

WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing/pulling carts, periodic climbing, repetitive motion and tolerance of heat.
HOURS OF WORK:

• As per department schedule
• Availability for all shifts
• As per Collective Agreement

SALARY: $26.75 - $27.82 per hour
