Job Description

The Martensville-Warman Early Years Family Resource Centre (MWEYFRC) offers programming, services and resources for all families with young children, prenatal to age five in the Martensville, Warman and surrounding areas. The MWEYFRC aims to provide families with positive early learning experiences as well as opportunities to connect, grow and learn together in an inviting, safe and supportive setting. All programs offered at the EYFRC are free of charge and all families are welcome.



The role of the Centre Coordinator of the FRC is to oversee the operations and day-to-day administration of the Centre and support the continued implementation of best practices. Supervision for this position is provided by the YMCA Saskatoon.

•This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) covering a maternity leave. The position will end November 28, 2025.•

The candidate will have responsibility for the following areas of operations of the MWEY FRC:



Oversee the day-to-day operations of the FRC and ensure the implementation of best practices that align with the strategic plan.



Establish good working relationships with partnering agencies and their representatives in order to achieve the desired outcomes within the four pillars - early learning, parenting education, family wellness and support, and information and referrals.



Work in partnership and alongside with the Program Designer.



Make recommendations, report to and take direction from the YMCA of Saskatoon and the FRC Advisory Committee and liaise with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education as needed.



Attend all required meetings.



Develop and deliver programming at the FRC and ensure expectations and program targets are met. Oversee quality controls for program including monitoring program outcomes, evaluating program effectiveness, and staying current with the programming in the field.



Promote a culture of empowering families and ensure the provision of a consistent engagement with parents, caregivers and children.



Collaborate in the planning of the hours for the facility, including flexible hours that meet the needs of working parents as well as coordinate staffing schedules and relief scheduling for holiday/sick coverage.



Maintain effective communication with families and staff; develop and share communications on a frequent basis.



Supervise, model, and mentor staff to ensure the FRC provides a high-quality, appropriate, and culturally sensitive family program.



Support the MWEYFRC Supervisor in recruiting, supervising, and providing training opportunities to volunteers, practicum students etc.



Skills and Qualifications:


The successful applicant will have a combination of the following skills and qualifications:



Human Services degree, Education degree, ECE Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Valid Level C First Aid and CPR.



Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.



Experience and training in the planning and delivery of programs and services to adults and children, both one-on-one and in groups. This experience is typically gained through experience and education in the human services fields, including applicants who have experience in delivering parenting education.



Knowledge of quality early learning environments.



Three or more years of relevant experience.



Experience managing a team of staff in the delivery of programming.



Capable of multi-tasking and effectively managing projects as a proficient problem solver and teamwork supporter.



Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable.



Experience working in collaborative environment with partners.



Knowledge of First Nations and Metis history in Saskatchewan along with an understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.



Ability to develop and manage a budget.



Strong computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft and Excel are required.



Experience using technology to facilitate reporting and to engage parents and community (e.g. website, Facebook and other social media channels).



Ability to travel locally and provincially.



Ability to work flexible hours.
