We are a family owned feedlot located 15 minutes west of Lethbridge and 5 minutes south of Nobleford. We operate two feedlots, and have a capacity of 11,000 head.
Overview
: The Cattle Processor/Herdsperson is responsible for ensuring early and accurate diagnosis of sick cattle along with general feedlot maintenance and tasks as required. The applicant must have a high understanding of cattle health, ensuring protocols for cattle treatment. They will ensure humane handling of all cattle, while providing low stress environments. They will assist feedlot management in all aspects of feedlot, yard and pen maintenance as well as processing cattle and shipping cattle.
Major Responsibilities:
Team player
Knowledge of cattle diseases, illnesses
Check and treat cattle in a safe and timely manner
Follow veterinary protocol
Communicate to other staff major issues with cattle
Report any issues with machinery used, fencing, bedding, etc.
Processing cattle - tagging, implanting, vaccinating cattle.
Prepare and move cattle from one area to another, including shipping and receiving cattle
Be able to step up and help with cleaning, washing equipment, general labor
Other duties as assigned by Feedlot Manager
Requirements
Good attitude, self-motivation and common sense are pivotal
Take direction and help in other areas when required
Willing to learn, expand knowledge
Working feedlot experience, minimum 2 years' experience working with livestock
Must have valid driver's license
Self-Motivated and have strong verbal communication skills
References required

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
