Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen & Catering Assistant to join our small but mighty team. As a Kitchen & Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth running of catering preparation. This is not your usual kitchen assistant position, this role is expansive, diverse and includes things like general cleaning + kitchen organization, food prep, ingredient inventory, and also things like fresh floral prep, light admin work and client care, social media content creation, assisting where required.

The perfect fit knows their way around a kitchen, can stand for long periods of time, can lift 30lbs with ease and is an adaptable, cheerful go-getter with a can-do attitude and without rigid ideals of what this role "should" look like.

We do things different here with a big focus on aesthetics and unwavering client care.

This position requires schedule flexibility. Hours range between 12 - 20+ hours a week depending on bookings, seasonality and the needs of the business.

MUST be available Fridays and early Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, prepping fruit, cheese and slicing meats.
- Help with canape assembly and plating under the guidance of creative lead.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and inventory of food supplies and ingredients.
- Following proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure food quality and prevent contamination. Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks ~

MUST work with urgency and well under pressure.


- Assist with light admin work and client care, helping with client pickups, menu card printing and organizing, and custom packaging. Occasionally delivering client orders.

Experience:
- Previous experience in catering, or in a restaurant or food service setting.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment including a meat slicer is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining rigid attention to detail.
- Must have strong communication skills, have a positive demeanor, be creative, and self-motivated.

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 24 per week
