Job descriptionSummary: The Category Manager will be responsible for all aspects of product sourcing (including product development), presentation of products for both digital and print marketing, working with our vendors and sales team to have the appropriate products/product lines. Another key success factor will be connecting with customers for product development ideas. This new role will be based out of our Newmarket Head Office. Core Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
Determines adds, drops and carry forward products, based on previous product/category performance and inventory availability, in development of specific offer assortment and merchandising plans.
Develops and establishes pricing strategies and manages product price points to maximize sell-through and profitability, achieving all established financial objectives.
Identifies customer requirements and develop plans to meet those requirements.
Monitors market conditions (i.e. government funding) that impact your assigned categories within the marketplace.
Makes decisions and collaborates with Graphics Department regarding item positioning, space allocation, catalog layout, cover/back cover product selections and overall book flow. Proofs copy, photography and layouts for all offers.
Responsible for the procurement of product information and photography.
Attend local and out of province/country trade shows to identify new vendors, new products/lines and to maintain relationships with our current vendors.
In collaboration with our Product Development Department source offshore products to increase sales opportunities and maximize profits.
Create adhoc and regular reports.

Qualifications:
3-5 Years Experience in Arts & Crafts
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
Valid passport and ability to travel outside of province and country as required
Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in province/territory of employment and access to car
Ability to attend 6-8 tradeshows throughout Canada and the USA annually. Travel internationally on occasion.
Experience with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, multi-task and have ability to meet tight deadlines
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Strong attention to detail
Overtime as needed
