Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: SCM Corporate Operations DepartmentJob Post End Date: 08/06/2024About this opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, SCM Corporate Operations the Category Management Advisor is responsible for the end-to-end Category Management of various Corporate Operations portfolios including Human Resources, Finance, Internal Audit and Communications. Activities include creation of the category strategy, implementing strategic sourcing initiatives and commercial/contractual negotiation of vendor engagements. The position requires complex contracting skills as there is a component of US support involved. This fast-paced position is ideal for a self-starter with strong Category Management knowledge and sourcing skills.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:Develop annual & long-term strategic planning and budgeting to secure supply of goods and services, for the Corporate Operations portfolio, and managing the associated price and supply risksEnsure Cenovus is conducting business with financially viable, technically qualified suppliers, who operate within their expertise and have a proven safety recordConduct the sourcing and contracting of external goods and services in an efficient, effective, and ethical manner that generates positive value for the organizationConduct spend analytics and suppliers analysis within the defined category portfolioLeverage spend data, business requirements, external market data, and other necessary information to develop category strategies and influence implementationAssess risk and support the development of enterprise category strategies in partnership with budget owners to achieve overall Cenovus objectivesLead and manage all aspects of sourcing initiatives including RFx activities, development of negotiation strategies and recommendations to awardDevelop negotiation plans and lead team members through the negotiation processReview, interpret, analyze, and negotiate legal terms and conditions in all types of contractsCollaborate with cross functional teams ensuring approved buying channels are leveraged to improve efficiencies within the supply chain and ensure the goods and/or services are available for business functions\xe2\x80\x99 consumptionEnsure all data, information, and records are crafted accurately and are appropriately maintained & safeguarded using approved repositoriesEnsure compliance to all applicable corporate policies, including the Supply Chain Management policy, as well as legal and regulatory requirementsDevelop and maintain a network of collaborative partner relationshipsWho you are:Must be legally entitled to work in CanadaUniversity or post-secondary degree in Business, SCM or relevant field of studySupply Chain Management Professional certification considered an asset5 years of progressively responsible and related experience in a procurement environment (Category Management experience specific to Corporate Operations is preferred)Background in oil and gas industry to understand the nature of work within an integrated oil and gas company considered an assetAbility to work at ease with team members, collaborators, suppliers, and legal counselExperience leading cross-functional teams through Category Management processesAbility to take complex situations and leverage problem solving, communication, and project management skills to present sound recommendationsExperience negotiating commercial and contractual contractsStrong financial foresight to assess, verify and interpret deal economics and commitmentsEnd-to-end Supply Chain experience including processes, tools and the interdependencies between category management, purchasing, materials management & logistics, supplier performance & relationship managementExcellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to tailor messaging to varying levels of team membersValues and fosters inclusion & diversity to build new and improved solutions and ideasTrack record as an effective change agentNote: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT August 5th, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Who we are:We\xe2\x80\x99re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
