What You\'ll Do
Reporting to an AVP, Automotive Parts the successful candidate will be accountable for delivering the financial plans of their merchandising categories through the development and execution of assortment, pricing and promotional plans.
Acts as the subject-matter expert for a given product portfolio and procure Auto Parts for Canadian Tire Retail and Part Source. Develop a broad categorical understanding of its relative consumer trends, competitive & market analysis and CTR store executional nuances and requirements. Financial accountability for category through adherence to predefined CTR strategy objectives and guidelines
Support assortment analysis and development on SKU lines relative to the Canadian Light Vehicle Car Parc
Setting & delivering against categorical assortment plans and evolve to customer centric measures
Planning, execution & delivery of line review process which can include but is not limited to:
Approval of the assortment and pricing plans
Import trip planning and execution
Vendor relationship/negotiation
Overseeing timeline delivery
Recommended action plan for item discontinuation and pricing
Define and execute against categorical promotional plans; including promotional item selection & offer to deliver against the plans and financial objectives
Provide content for store education on product/process education including Auto Service
Ensuring adherence to CTR promotional and pricing strategies
Develops, mentors, guides and coaches Category Business Analysts by setting clear performance objectives and providing ongoing and timely feedback
What You Bring
3-5 years in Category Management experience and/or progressive growth in a relevant cross functional role, preferable in the Automotive sector.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives that will achieve financial performance and operational targets
Strong business acumen skills; demonstrated expertise of retail marketing, consumer trends, and inventory management
Absolute commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives; possess superior innovation management skills
Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to develop others
Superior leadership skills and presence; highly developed sense of accountability, passion and track record for delivering results
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; regularly influences and persuades key stakeholders
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Ability to travel 2 - 4 weeks per year
