\xc2\xb7Our Technicians, Heavy Equipment are responsible for supporting the customer out in the field or on site with superior service and product expertise to maintain extremely high standards that ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner with the utmost integrity
\xc2\xb7Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont\'s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
\xc2\xb7Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
\xc2\xb7Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field or on site.
\xc2\xb7Prepare accurate service and repair reports in an accurate and timely manner
\xc2\xb7Maintain excellent communication and trusted customer relationships through regular on-site visitsSkills Required:

  • minimum 2 years of experience working in a CAT dealership is mandatory.
  • +5 years of Caterpillar Engine Experience and actual and proven experience with CAT 3500 and/or CAT 3600 and/or MAK engines is mandatory.
  • Troubleshooting/diagnosing, repairing to Caterpillar quality standards, effective customer service skills
  • Will be field Techs and travelling to where the work is (these engines are stationary and the techs go to them)
  • Proven CAT engine experience is a \xe2\x80\x9cmust have\xe2\x80\x9d, and other (competitor) may include Cummins, Aggreko, and Eaton.
  • Safety conscious with a diverse knowledge of Caterpillar products and systems
  • A basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication
  • Able to read and understand prints, drawings, and technical bulletins
  • Analytical with knowledge of mechanics in electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Customer centric with excellent relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to complete repairs/service within established time guidelines in a busy, fast paced environment where priorities are constantly changing
  • Self-directed team player with strong initiative, business acumen and integrity
  • Focused, energetic, and organized with superior attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Willing to work flexible shifts to meet the demands of the business, including afternoon shifts
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with CAT systems (ET and SIS are mandatory)
  • Knowledge of competitors\' equipment would be an asset
  • Adaptable to on-call working schedules and willing to work in all weather conditions
Experience Required:
  • \xc2\xb75 years of experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field
Education Required:
  • College diploma AND equivalent technical experience
Wage & Hours: $38 \xe2\x80\x93 $40
  • Number of hours per day: 8 to 12
  • Number of days per week: 4 to 7
  • Number of hours per week: 40
  • Overtime starts after how many hours: 40 hours weekly
  • Shift Rotation: As Needed
