Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Power-Generation Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of power-generation equipment--including engines, generators, and electrical systems--to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards such as CSA C282.
This is a field-based position, with service work conducted throughout Northwest British Columbia. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in remote or industrial environments and occasionally traveling for service calls.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical or electrical background, be proficient with hand and power tools, and capable of reading and interpreting schematics and diagrams.
Candidates with Heavy Duty Mechanic or Electrician backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and training programs are available for those looking to transition into the power generation field.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with power-generation equipment, including diesel and gas engines, generators, and control systems.
Perform maintenance and repairs using appropriate hand tools and power tools.
Conduct CSA C282-compliant load testing and inspections to ensure reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of parts used and work performed.
Perform field service work across Northwest BC, including at industrial, commercial, and remote sites.
Collaborate with team members to complete service calls, installations, and overhauls efficiently.
Assist in training junior technicians in mechanical repair, electrical diagnostics, and safety protocols.
Provide basic customer support and explain technical issues or service recommendations when needed.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a mechanic, electrician, or in a similar role involving equipment service and repair.
Heavy Duty Mechanic or Journeyman Electrician certification (or equivalent experience) will be considered.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to power generation.
Experience conducting or assisting with CSA C282 load testing and documentation is an asset.
Ability to diagnose faults using test equipment, meters, and software tools.
Sales or customer service experience is beneficial for interacting with clients about equipment needs and repair solutions.
Must be comfortable with fieldwork, travel, and working in varying weather and site conditions.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training programs and certifications to expand your skillset.

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
