The Columbia Lake Recreation Centre is looking for talented individuals to join our team as casual
Recreation Centre Workers
. Reporting to the Rec Centre Manager, the Recreation Centre Workers will support the visitors at the Columbia Lake Recreation Centre.
We are able to offer a variety of schedules to accommodate individuals (up to 30 hours a week if you are available).
Hourly rate is $20.00.
The Casual Recreation Centre Worker's primary responsibilities include:
Welcoming visitors to the Columbia Lake Recreation Centre
Assisting visitors by directing them appropriately within the facility
Accepting and processing payments made by visitors and users using a point of sale system (training will be provided)
Tracking user schedules and ensuring there are no booking conflicts
Conducting general light labour duties within the facility, such as sweeping floors, cleaning up spills, sanitizing surfaces, replenishing supplies, and ensuring that the facility is properly stocked
Keeping a safe and clean reception area by complying with AFN's procedures, monitoring the task log book, and confirming identity of visitors
Setting up or taking down sporting equipment as needed
Checking and maintaining sports equipment and reporting any major defects that cannot be addressed
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Experience working with First Nations/Aboriginal/Indigenous communities
High attention to detail in order to ensure accurate processing of payments
Physically fit in order to be able to walk around the Recreation Centre and lift, bend, stand, kneel, etc. in order to safely perform required tasks
Exceptional and respectful communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in adverse situations
Ability to work alone unsupervised and to also function as part of a diverse team of professionals
Able to work in accordance with timelines and deadlines
