The Village of Coleman Care Centre, located in Barrie, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a CASUAL RECREATION TEAM MEMEBER to join their Long-Term Care REC Team.
**Completed Diploma or Degree in Recreation Leisure Studios and/or gerontology from a community college or university.
Role requires availability SUPPORTS every other weekend

As a new Recreation Team Member, you will:

• Have experience working with the geriatric population
• Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
• Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture.
• Work as key member of our Village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents individual needs,
• Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic services
• Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individuals health

It would be an asset if our new Recreation Team Members has:

• Enrolled in or completed a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university is an asset
• Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety
• Experience working with people living with dementia
