Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Cook/Cashier to join our culinary/FOH team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment, supporting meal service and ensuring high-quality food presentation. Candidate must have strong communication and customer service skills and be capable of toggling between roles. Prior experience in restaurant settings is highly valued, along with proficient knife skills and culinary knowledge. The Prep Cook/Cashier will play a vital role in assisting with food handling, and meal preparation as well as inventory, administration, and point of sale management to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Duties



Prepare ingredients and components for daily menu items, following standardized recipes and portion sizes Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling dishes Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety standards Support cooking processes by assisting chefs during meal preparation and plating Handle food safely during storage, thawing, and transportation to prevent contamination Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and notify management of shortages or expired items The role is public facing: Greet guests, take orders, process payments, and ensure that customers are satisfied with their overall experience.

Skills



Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred Previous customer service strongly preferred Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within restaurant or food service environments Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation techniques Proficiency in culinary skills including knife handling and basic cooking methods Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in sanitation Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with the public

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 45 per week
